Rated at 310 hp an 320 lb-ft of torque, the 2016 Ford Mustang's 2.3 L EcoBoost engine with twin-scroll turbochargers and Direct Injection is designed with efficiency in mind. Capable of delivering 300 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, the 3.7 L V6 engine is another economical powertrain that doesn't compromise performance. The 5.0 L GT V8 engine kicks up the hp rating to 435 and the torque to 400 lb-ft. To enjoy up to 526 horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque, you can opt for the 5.2 L Shelby GT350 V8 engine that comes with a Port Fuel Injection (PFI) system with twin-high flow pumps. All of the engines in the 2016 Ford Mustang are compatible with the standard six-speed manual transmission. A six-speed SelectShift Automatic with Paddle Shifters can also be paired with the EcoBoost, V6 and GT engines. For the ultimate versatility in shifting gears, you can select the TREMEC six-speed manual transmission that works exclusively with the Shelby GT350 engine. Four driving modes are also available for selection through toggle switches in the central console.

Interior

The driver's seat in the 2016 Ford Mustang is installed in a low position to offer maximum ergonomics for sporty driving. There's also a dead pedal that provides firm support for the left foot while the right foot is on the accelerator. If you prefer leather-appointed front seats with heating and ventilation, then select the EcoBoost Premium or GT Premium trims. The Shelby GT350 cockpit has a sophisticated and sporty design featuring RECARO cloth upholstery, a touch of aluminum panels and leather wrapping on the steering wheel.

Features

The touchscreen navigation system in the 2016 Ford Mustang is paired with SiriusXM Satellite Traffic and Travel Link. Such service provides accurate GPS-based directions and a wealth of other useful information like weather and gas prices. Designed for seamless connections to compatible mobile phones, Sync 3 is another advanced digital amenity inside this Ford sports car. When you're interested in real-time data about mechanical parameters such as acceleration, just focus on the 4.2-inch display above the instrument cluster that's part of the Track Apps system. To listen to your favorite tracks on HD Radio and FM channels, turn up the volume in the 390-watt Shaker Pro Audio System that comes with a dozen speakers.

Safety

The MagneRide Damping System in the 2016 Ford Mustang is engineered to reduce bumps, grinds and other uncomfortable sensations that are likely to occur at high speeds. Disc brakes with anti-lock technology and traction control are integrated into all four wheels to deliver superior stopping capabilities. With the Adaptive Cruise Control and Rain- Sensing Wipers, you don't have much to worry even when the Mustang is set on auto pilot at highway speeds.
