It was just three years ago that the Ford Fusion underwent a major redesign, creating one of the most popular cars in the greater Gainesville, FL area. Not only is the Fusion one of the most popular cars in the area, but its sits comfortably at the top of its class nationwide. The 2016 Ford Fusion is a pleasant blend of styling, performance, and fuel efficiency, coupled with an exceptionally comfortable ride. The Fusion is also available with all-wheel drive, which is a rare option for mid-size cars.

Performance is always an issue with buyers in the Gainesville area, especially for those in search of a mid-size sedan to carry their family around in. The base Fusion and SE models come equipped with a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine as standard. This engine is rated at 175 horsepower and is capable of delivering 175 lb-ft of torque to the wheels via a six-speed shiftable automatic transmission. In this guise the Fusion FWD/awd nets a combined 26 mpg. For those who want a little more power there is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine available. This engine is rated at 181 horsepower and delivers 185 lb-ft of torque. This engine can be equipped with an auto stop/start features. With this feature the 1.5L engine gets an estimated 29 mpg, without this feature it still gets an impressive 28 mpg combined. At the top of the list is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 240 horsepower and delivers 270 lb-ft of torque. Front wheel drive versions of this engine are rated at 26 mpg combined, all- wheel drive versions drop down to 25 mpg.

The 2016 Ford Fusion has carried its stylish exterior over into the interior where you will find a wealth of top grade materials used to create a very cool and cultured look. The center stack is refreshingly devoid of buttons as the large MyFord touchscreen can be added which includes all of the controls into one easy to see and use location.
Between the well-thought out location of the driver's seat and the standard rearview camera, visibility in the Fusion is among the best in class. The 8-inch MyFord touchscreen along with an easy to use voice command system make it easy to configure and control the system using your smartphone and allows for handsfree calling and streaming of your favorite music stations. One exceptionally nice feature is that the front seats sit far enough off the floor to give rear seat passengers a place to slide their feet for added leg room.

Vehicle safety has long been job number one for the Ford Motor Company and the 2016 Fusion carries on this tradition quite nicely. The Fusion comes standard with a rearview camera, front-seat side, side curtain, and front knee airbags, traction and stability controls, and four wheel antilock brakes. The Ford Sync system has a built in emergency crash notification program that uses your cell phone to dial 911 in the event of a collision. All Fusions also come with the Ford MyKey system that allows you to set a number of parameters for teen drivers to help keep them safer during their early driving years. Among the many optional safety features are rear cross-traffic alerts, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, driver drowsiness detection, and frontal collision warning and mitigation with automatic brake priming.
